We hope you enjoyed the weekend! Here at Warmpicture we honored our veterans, who without them, we would not have the freedoms we hold so dear today. Please take the time to tell a veteran how much you appreciate their service and sacrifice.
We are excited to announce several outstanding stock photographers have joined Warmpicture. That means you now have an even larger selection of the best stock photos at any agency, now available direct from the artist.
Jane Rix and Matthew Tilghman are actively building their portfolios. And we just received commitments from Bridget McGill and Leslie Banks to join Warmpicture. Leslie is known as “Eurobanks,” and is a highly accomplished and popular stock photographer. She recently ended her exclusivity with another agency, and we are lucky to have her!
Our artists remain hard at work, creating cool new photos for your designs, articles and blogs. With all apologies to the Muppets, we think some of these new uploads are Boffo Socko!
And speaking of socks…err uh shoes…Jami Garrison has been using her love of new kicks to create some fun photo ideas.
A most timely image from Jami is this composition of women’s high heel boots and a Christmas Santa hat. This fun composition will fit a lot of holiday themed designs and blogs.
I can see this being used for gift ideas, announcing a holiday sale, promoting a Christmas party event, and more. It’s isolated on a white background to make it easy to drop into a design seamlessly.
While Christmas is almost upon us, it won’t be long before Spring Break sneaks up on us. And for those of us who don’t want to wait that long (raises hand), there is always a potential warm weather vacation waiting for us somewhere.
Jo Ann Snover reminds of us of this, and brings us an entertaining photo of a girl catching a wave under a warm, sunny sky.
This is not an easy photo to capture, but Jo Ann did a great job with it. The warm, low angle light is reflected back at the girl to remove any distracting shadows. The waves are frozen to display the power of the ocean. And our subject, the girl on vacation, is rendered in sharp focus despite the action of her running. I need a vacation!
Back to holiday themes. My wife loves to bake Christmas cookies every year, and give them to our friends and neighbors. I couldn’t help but think of that when I saw Steve Cukrov’s latest stock photo of Christmas presents, cookies, and ginger bread men. Technically it looks like a ginger bread woman to me, but I’m just sayin’.
This is a wonderful holiday design. The space at the bottom of the image quickly
fades toward white. Not only does this make it easy to drag and drop into a graphic design, it also gives us valuable space to work with as we see fit.
We can use our favorite photo editing software (such as Photoshop, The Gimp, or Paint Shop Pro) to expand the copy space at the bottom of the image. All we need to do is tack on some additional white space by increasing the size of the canvas. This gives us a flexible graphic design that we can work with, and add text wherever we need it.
There are plenty more new stock photos available direct from the artists at Warmpicture. Please check them out, and let us know which ones are your favorites!
One announcement to take care of. We are running a special 15% off Sale for anyone who connects with Warmpicture by Liking Us on Facebook. You can use it to purchase a photo, or even to buy an entire subscription package! Join us on Facebook to grab the code, and to stay up to date with new coupon announcements.

around the corner. Photographer Danny Smythe has a new cornucopia photo which is perfect for last second Autumn and Thanksgiving designs.
Everyone loves an ocean sunrise photo. I can’t help myself from taking several on every ocean vacation. Because so many people take these photographs, it is challenging to make yours stand out from the crowd. You need to get the exposure perfect, and it greatly helps to use neutral density filters so you can expose for the water, and the sun, simultaneously.
Stock artist Jane Rix recently joined Warmpicture, and we are pleased to offer her excellent images direct to the public at great savings. Jane is a 3-D modeller who is adept at creating photo realistic renders. The great thing about 3-D rendering is the artist can create literally anything that they can imagine. Renders are typically more surreal looking than photographs, and often this is exactly the look that a designer seeks.
